Edo State Wins Cooking Competition As ABU, Zaria Hosts Cultural Carnival

The annual Cultural Carnival of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria organized by the Student Representative Council (SRC) held on 17th of August at Mamman Kotangora Square, showcase the rich cultural heritage and diversity of Nigeria from different backgrounds. The colorful event witness various cultural display to the amazement of the crowd. The three day events which celebrate Nigeria's diverse culture in unity and harmony also promotes the Nigeria's tapestry, one of the highlights of the event is the cooking competition which various delicacies from different tribes and Edo state clinched the prize of the competition as they cook their famous groundnut soup and pounded yam to the delight of the audience.

Mass Communication Sets 2021/2022 Finally Graduates from ABU!

  BY  FATIMA SHAFI'U U17MM1125 The newest students Graduating from Mass Communication Department, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU) are the set of 2021/2022 session students, who witnessed the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and also the strikes embarked by the ASUU members. After an additional 2 years to their normal 4 years course, finally comes to an end.  The students could not hide their emotions after so much delay in their seek for knowledge within ABU as they wrote their final papers as an undergraduate students on the 18th of September, 2023. This is a significant accomplishment that deserves to be celebrated. The most prominent festivals are "Echane”, "Eche-ori" and Ekuechi: ECHE -ANE FESTIVAL (women festival) Eche-ane simply means women festivals before, now it was only during this period that ladies were given out for marriage. Eche-ane is mostly prioritized by the outing of masquerade (EKU) with their sticks to entertain people and receive gifts from guests.
