ABU Cultural Carnival Wraps Up, Showcasing Diversity and Unity

Ahmadu Bello University Student Representative Council (ABU-SRC) today concluded its Cultural Carnival in Zaria...celebrated a  3-days of cultural vibrancy and unity. Themed "Harmony in Diversity," the event featured horse riding, popularly known as Durbar, traditional music, dance, and crafts, bringing together students, staff, and local residents to appreciate Nigeria's rich heritage.

The ABU campus transformed into a lively hub of activity, with students showcasing artifacts, traditional attires and procession. Captivating performances blended contemporary and traditional elements, captivating the audience. The grand parade, a highlight, featured participants in vibrant cultural costumes parading through the campus, from SRC secretariat to Kontagora Square in the Main Campus.

Many expressed satisfaction with the event's initiative and success. The carnival fostered cultural appreciation and dialogue, underscoring the importance of unity in diversity.

 

With the carnival's conclusion, attendees left with a deeper connection to their culture and a broader understanding of Nigeria's cultural tapestry. The ABU Cultural Carnival which is the second of its kind is set to become an annual tradition, fostering unity through celebration.



The event ended with individuals and groups winning awards in different categories.

Mass Communication Sets 2021/2022 Finally Graduates from ABU!

After an additional 2 years to their normal 4 years course, finally comes to an end.  The students could not hide their emotions after so much delay in their seek for knowledge within ABU as they wrote their final papers as an undergraduate students on the 18th of September, 2023. This is a significant accomplishment that deserves to be celebrated. The most prominent festivals are "Echane”, "Eche-ori" and Ekuechi: ECHE -ANE FESTIVAL (women festival) Eche-ane simply means women festivals before, now it was only during this period that ladies were given out for marriage.
