2023 FIFA women’s world cup; Oshoala and Onome sets records!

Season of setting records! Asisat Oshoala and Onome Ebi both set records in the ongoing 2023 FIFA women’s world cup in Australia.

Onome Ebi, 40, set the record of the first African, male and female to appear 6 times in FIFA world cup competition. She first represented Nigeria’s national team Super Falcon in 2003 FIFA women’s world cup and subsequent competitions in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019 and the current completion.

Super sub Asisat Oshoala in the match Nigeria vs Australia scored the third goal in 72 minutes of the match to give Nigeria 2 goal lead, and making her the first African Female to score in three different FIFA women’s world cup.

Oshoala also scored in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA women’s world cup totaling three score in different editions. Both players making Nigeria and Nigerians proud.
