Studying is not as hard as a lot of people see it to be - a tasking effort to gain knowledge - which shouldn't be. They probably haven't found a favourable reading pattern to use so they end up studying for hours without knowing how to comprehend and retain the information. Here are a few techniques to study smartly
1. SQ3R Technique: This technique is named after five steps - survey, question, read, recite and review. With this technique, you should
i. Survey- get a quick idea of the whole material by scanning the contents
ii. Question- create questions you want to get answers to from the material
iii. Read- this will be easier because you already have an idea of what to expect from the material
iv. Recite- now you answer the questions you drafted out earlier. It aids comprehension and retention of important points.
v. Review- this involves making mental notes of what you've read to see how much of it you remember. It is more effective when you review without looking at the material.
