By

ABDURRAHMAN YAHYA LAWAL U18MM2038

Today marks the third year since the death of the late Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, who passed away on September 20, 2020, at the age of 84. Alhaji Shehu Idris was the longest-reigning monarch in the history of the Zazzau emirate, having reigned for 45 years.

During his reign, he was known for his commitment to peace and unity among the different tribes that lived in Zaria and its environs. His death was a great loss to the people of Zaria and Nigeria as a whole, and it was met with shock, grief, and eulogies from across the country.

Despite his passing, the legacy of the late Emir of Zazzau lives on. His reign was marked by a commitment to peace and development, and his contributions to the growth of Zaria and its environs will always be remembered.

The appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli as the 19th Emir of Zazzau on October 7, 2020, following the demise of Alhaji Shehu Idris, is a testament to the rich history and culture of the Zazzau emirate. As we remember the late Emir of Zazzau today, we pray may Allah forgive and have mercy upon him, amin.
