Newcastle FC in the group of death in the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League

Newcastle FC finds themselves in the group of death with AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint Germain in the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League having being away from the competition 20 years during the UCL draw which took place on the 31st of August, 2023.
The Magpies who have been thriving again thanks to the financial backing of their new Saudi owners under the guidance of Eddie Howe, who has steered them back to the top table of European football may find themselves out of the competition as soon as it starts as the group of death maybe difficult to crossover. This draw has stirred up a lot of fear and comments as fans and people worry for Newcastle but the head coach Eddie Howe has expressed his excitement the team's champions League group. “It took me a few seconds to process it,” the Howie told reporters on the 1st of September 2023. “The group stage can be quite complex. I didn’t realize it was that complicated.”
“When the dust settles down you look at it with excitement. There’s no negativity from us internally towards the draw. It’s challenging but there’s some great European games to experience and great places to visit for our supporters. It’s a great thing.”
