Fuel subsidy removal: A Fruitful or Rather Another Shameless Policy to Nigerians

A student from the faculty of administration minded the data
on fuel subsidy allocation and its negative
impact to the citizens of Nigeria and therefore goes with the idea that fuel
subsidy removal is fruitful to Nigerians. She maintained that in the year 2015,
the government allocated the amount of 316 billion naira for fuel subsidy, in
the year 2016 and 2017, they allocated the amount of 141.1 billion naira, in 2018
they allocated the amount of 72 billion naira, in 2019 they allocated 578 billion
naira, in 2020, they allocated 434billion naira, in 2021 they allocated 1.42
trillion naira for fuel subsidy, in 2022 they allocated 4.33 trillion naira for
fuel subsidy and in 2023 just for six months, they allocated 3.6 trillion naira
for fuel subsidy and this is more than the budget of some states in the
country.
While on his view, student
from the faculty of allied medical sciences looked at the issue from the angle
of the hardship of the common man in terms of transportation, economy and also
education. Where he said the fuel subsidy removal is another shameless policy
