The ‘All Stars’ edition featured carefully selected housemates and fan favourites from previous editions of the show which includes See Gobbe, Double Wahala, Pepper Dem, Lockdown, Shine Ya Eye and Level Up. 20 housemates were selected including two previous winners from previous seasons ( Mercy and Whitemoney). The headline sponsorer of the show is MoniePoint and the associate sponsor is HFM Nigeria.
According to the organizers of the show, the winner will be going home with #120million naira.
Ilebaye is one of the selected housemate in the ongoing bbnaija all stars show. Her full name is Ilebaye Precious Odiniya, she is a 22 year old girl who hails from kogi state. She studied Criminology and security studies at Salem University.
Ilebaye was one of the least ranked housemates because of her age (22) and the fact that she did not command a strong presence on social media because she was the third housemate to be evicted in the level up season. Two weeks into the show, the model has emerged as one of the strongest contenders for the grand prize of ₦120 million naira.
She won the hearts of viewers around the globe, mainly because she was bullied by some older housemates in the Big Brother House. While many believe she is being bullied, others argue that she is playing the victim to get pity from fans and improve her chances of winning the show or staying longer in the house.
A major altercation that made fans side with the 22-year-old was a scenario that saw 31-year-old fellow housemate Tolanibaj pull up the duvet while Ilebaye and Neo were in bed. A shocked Ilebaye would scream as Tolanibaj made whore remarks at her and walked her out of the room.
Some housemates also believe Ilebaye is playing the victim in the house, but during a dairy session disclosed that she finds it hard to reply to housemates that are way older than her and lamented that they were taking advantage of the situation.
In her bid to stand up for herself in the house, Ilebaye squared off with another housemate, Angel, who is just one year older than her, and went on to prove a point as she exchanged words with Cee-C and risked disqualification after grabbing her hair while trading words.
Cee-C is 30 years old, which means she is eight years older than Ilebaye. Her quarrel with Ilebaye confused the narrative that Ilebaye was playing the victim, as some fans believe she is tired of being bullied and is now standing up for herself.
Another event that made fans love her more was when Ike packed her neat clothes from her wardrobe and scattered them in front of the toilet, Angel woke Ilebaye who was sleeping to come see her clothes, when Ilebaye got to the scene, she hissed and went back to bed without reacting. This made her fans and followers to increase.
Big Brother Naija is a reality TV show, and housemates should not be blamed for assuming fake personalities as a strategy to win the show.
If Ilebaye is playing the victim, then it must have worked, as voting in Sunday’s eviction proved that she is nowhere near eviction.
However, is this enough reason to crown her the winner?
She’s obviously childish and still has a lot to learn in life she doesn’t deserve to win , I feel it will push her to thinking she has the perfect behavior and not make her change the little annoying behavior she has
I feels she deserves to win, even if she’s playing the victim, every one in the show came with a strategy, so it’s just her luck if her strategy makes people like her more than the others.
She’s the youngest and definitely needs to show the world that young people can also strive to be successful in this world if they put in so much determination
