After graduating from school, what next!?

Many students are graduating from school with the hope of getting a good job, but sincerely do students have to be optimistic or pessimistic about getting desired jobs. In recent times, there are fewer job opportunity in Nigeria. The government encourages students to engage in job acquisition and learn a skill or two. This on the government part is to ensure that students are well equipped, even if not well equipped, but nevertheless equipped to live a decent life after graduating from school. It is well beloved that an idle hand is a devil workshop. Some students believe that having a good result is a card to getting a good job while some believe that having the right training and grooming is a card to having a good work. Well having good result, the right grooming and training is a card for landing a good job but is the job itself available. I think that learning a skill does not make you less educated, instead it makes you armed for the rough walks of life.
When a student finished school and lands a good job or better still a paying job, the skill they have acquired when practiced and fully utilized becomes an added advantage. Students engaging in a skill is not the only way to caterer for oneself after school, even learning a trade like owning a foodstuffs or provisions store or other things like that. This makes students have some thing going before getting a job, or even after getting a job. Establishing oneself after school is no joke, it requires not just efforts but resources. As the saying goes, it best to save up for raining season, that is, a student should start preparing on how to establish themself after their graduating and whatnots. Some students that are wise enough save a bunch of their NYSC allowance to use as a start-up fund for there business. This idea is very encouraging to not just the students but to their parents, which allows them to engage the support of their parents and other sponsors. Their are students who already have a skill or trade they engage in but it doesn't mean that they are set for life, no one is set for life, but the are set for the rough walk of life and those students who are yet to learn a skill or a trade should do so now when it not too late. And those who see learning a skill or a trade too much of a hassle, should wake up because there is an adage that say "your hand or palm does not deceive you", that is, it is the trade or skill you engage in that will last, if not for forever but for a while till some thing good comes your way.
