TOILET BLOCKAGE IN AMINA HALL

By; Garba Saadatu, U17MM1035

The residents of block 3,Amina hall have been struggling with the closure of toilet and bathrooms of two floors due to pipe blockage.

It has come to the notice of the school management of Ahmadu Bello University on the issue of water passing through electric lines due to the blockage of toilet water pipes.

This issue led to the closure as it is a danger to students residing on the block, the toilets have been locked for two months and the residents of the affected floors have to share with the other two floors. This has been a struggle for students living on the block as the bathrooms are not enough for the amount of people using it.There is always a lot of queue which in turn makes students late for their classes, there has also been complaints on how dirty the toilets are and water leaking through the walls of the toilets dropping on students passing by. These are few out of the many inconveniences faced by students on the block.

I met with the Hall governor to inquire about any possible solution to this issue, she said the toilets have to stay locked for now as the work that has to be done is major, both the electric and water lines have to be fixed to avoid greater risk.she ensured that she is working relentlessly to make sure that a budget is set by the school management to get the work started.

we are optimistic that the school management will look into this problem faced by students which affects their academics and also life in hostel in general,we hope that a committee is set as soon as possible to begin the work and ease the struggle of students residing in the hostel.
