It is no longer news that our world is becoming digitized, we are now moving far beyond our realities and exploring an alternate virtual universe where we can explore beyond our imaginations. The recent influx of AI’s is already giving us a clue into what’s coming next in our world today. several organizations, social media sites, are beginning to adopt or are even far gone into creating an alternate universe, we see the likes of Facebook with the Metaverse and others.

Now, the thing is it is an amazing innovation whereby, we are going beyond our realities and this can give other opportunities on the virtual space, creating more workforce and other things but the main question is are we also thinking of our environment? Are all of these top organizations or social media sites like Facebook, tiktok, Instagram, twitter etc leaving a huge carbon footprint? 

The problem not only lies in them creating different kind of technological innovations but rather on we the common people, asking questions, such as how would all of these technological innovations, affect us in the long run? What are the cost we are paying especially regarding our environment. Alot of people are not even eco conscious to say the least, we rather just look at things and don’t care to ask questions we are rather obsessed with the successful results. It even rather worse today in African countries, despite we having a sustainable culture, we disregard it and tag it as ancient. Also, regardless of we asking accountable questions regarding how we’re shifting to an alternate virtual reality, we can also of think of finding alternatives that are eco friendly and sustainable as well. It takes small steps to achieve that. We already have some eco friendly e browsing websites in place such as ECOSIA, EKORU, TREE HUGGER etc. Alot of people have no idea that websites like these even exist, therefore to make it known and widely adopted, it is important to share and tell people about it. These websites are doing great jobs in being environmentally conscious by using 80% of the income generated by search ads to plant trees. 

So far, more than 20 million users have contributed to a quickly growing 154,950,227+ trees planted. There are still lots more out there which people don’t know about, website like ECOSIA are even better alternatives to Google and the likes. Therefore, it is time for us to be eco eco conscious as there is no better time than now. LET’S ALL BE ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CONSCIOUS
