Coca Cola Consumption: Enjoyment or Slow Steps Towards Diseases

As humans, what we eat or consume reflect to our behavior and health. Coca cola otherwise known as soda is a drink  consumed by many around the world. The drink was founded in Atlanta Georgia in 1886 by Dr. John Pemberton. The health benefits of coca cola have result to many argument. But it is important to understand the health benefits of what we consume.

It is shown that, a can of coca cola contains 39 grams of sugar which is equivalent to 13 teaspoons of sugar. The amount of Suger in this content can result to many health problems such as: obesity and diabetes. Also, coca cola can affect the liver and it's functions.



Apart from that, coca cola contains caffeine which promote addiction. There is no doubt that regular consumers of coca cola are addicted to it. Also, researches have shown that excessive caffeine can result to restlessness causing problems with digestion and heart diseases.

Other health effects of coca cola consumption are: tooth decay, cancer, belly fat, weight gain and sugar addiction.

There are several other alternatives to coca cola consumption such as: fruit juice from natural resources which can be easily made at home. And these juices contain less sugar and no artificial colors. One is advised to reduce the intake of coca cola or pair it with healthy foods such as: vegetables, fruits or nuts when consuming it. This will help in balancing the sugar content and provide essential vitamins and minerals.
