"CERTIFICATE OR NO CERTIFICATE, HERE'S WHAT I KNOW..."

July 2022, I couldn't afford to buy a course online, and it was not the first time. Fortunately, the course: 'The Power of Picture Books' from the University of Waikato” was free!

I took all the courses seriously. Intentionally kept notes, and engaged in the comments section along with other students. I also attempted all the exercises and previewed all the book recommendations made during the class.

Now that I have this new knowledge on picture books, I saw an opportunity to finally connect with a book illustrator I greatly admire on Facebook, Joshua Wichterich. We had an interesting conversation which I reminisce and value to this day!

At the end of this creative course, I still did not have the financial buoyancy to upgrade my study to the pro version and acquire my certificate. Do I consider my study a waste? No!

I may not be a certified book illustrator (yet) but here's what I do know- I have knowledge and skill imprinted in my mind. I can confidently say I had a limited access to something that can provide me with limitless opportunities if I take responsibility of this new learning and explore it further.

I've said it before. It may be darn difficult to be a productive Nigerian youth but it is not impossible. There is a price to acquiring almost everything in this life. But with purpose in mind, GO FOR LIMITED TO ENJOY LIMITLESS! Learn all you can now for soon, it shall be manifested. 'Excuse me, I'm not preaching.'

Mass Communication Sets 2021/2022 Finally Graduates from ABU!

  BY  FATIMA SHAFI'U U17MM1125 The newest students Graduating from Mass Communication Department, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria (ABU) are the set of 2021/2022 session students, who witnessed the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and also the strikes embarked by the ASUU members. After an additional 2 years to their normal 4 years course, finally comes to an end.  The students could not hide their emotions after so much delay in their seek for knowledge within ABU as they wrote their final papers as an undergraduate students on the 18th of September, 2023. This is a significant accomplishment that deserves to be celebrated.
